Dr Heim

Dr. Erica Heim, Medical Director   A native of Los Angeles, Dr. Heim grew up in Encino and attended Westlake School for Girls. She then earned her B.A. in Biology at Vassar College in New York. A move to San Francisco followed, along with a job as a receptionist at a veterinary hospital there. Dr. Heim fell in love with the work instantaneously and quickly moved to working as a veterinary technician for the next four years. She attended Ross University and completed her clinical training at the University of Missouri.


After school, Dr. Heim moved back to Los Angeles and began practicing medicine. Dr. Heim has worked at several practices over the last five years, and spent the last two and a half years in practice in West Los Angeles. No longer is a nomad, Dr. Heim is excited to make Best Friends Animal Hospital a permanent home. Dr. Heim currently lives with her husband and their 12 year old Siberian Husky cross, Archer. When not working, she enjoys hiking, skiing, traveling, and scuba diving.

 Dr. Elizabeth Ingram, Veterinarian    Originally from Irvine, CA, Dr. Ingram attended Whitman College in Washington State for her undergraduate work, and received her doctorate of veterinary medicine from Western University in Pomona. During her undergrad years, Dr. Ingram studied overseas in Japan where she fell in love with the Japanese language and culture.

 Dr. Ingram’s favorite parts of the job are performing surgeries and interacting with owners and their pets. When she’s not working with patients, Dr. Ingram spends her free time playing video games, making sushi, and jogging with her two dogs Dusty MacDuff a 9yr old Shetland Sheepdog, and Manuel Calavera a 7yr old Longhair Chihuahua. Dr. Ingram would like clients to know that she is dedicated to providing whole patient care. Her goal is to engage every pet parent to be active participants in ensuring their pet’s best health!

 

 

Dr Concepcion

Dr. Giselle Concepcion, Veterinarian   Originally from Puerto Rico, Dr. Concepcion obtained her Bachelors of Science Degree in Veterinary Technology from the University of Puerto Rico Medical Science Campos.
After moving to the U.S., Dr. Concepcion received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University in 2008. Her special interests are Internal medicine and endocrinology.

When she's not at Best Friends caring for pets, you can find Dr. Concepcion spending time with her husband and their three rescued dogs, Nina a Corgi Mix, and Anastasia and Tyson…two Staffy Bull Terriers. As a Veterinarian, Dr. Concepcion understands that pets are happiest at home, and she does everything possible to get pets back to health quickly and thoroughly. Dr. Concepcion would like clients to realize the importance of proper veterinary care, and the necessity of preventative care and compliance.
